According to a report of ANI, Jacqueline is being questioned by the ED for the last 5 hours. The report reads, “Enforcement Directorate (ED) is questioning Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez in Delhi for the last five hours, in a money laundering case.”
An ED official also told ANI, “She is facing allegations of money laundering and that is why is she is being questioned as a witness in the ongoing case.”
The ED had earlier summoned her to physically join the probe.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar is lodged at Delhi’s Rohini jail as an undertrial. He has been accused of extorting 200 crores from a businessman over a period of one year. ED officials say, he also has over 20 other cases of extortion against him and operated a racket from inside his jail cell.
The agency raided and seized a sea-facing bungalow in Chennai on August 24, 2021 and found Rs 82.5 lakh cash, and over a dozen luxurious cars in connection with the money laundering case against Chandrashekar.
Jacqueline Fernandez is not a suspect in the case. Jacqueline is being questioned as a witness with an alleged multi-crore extortion racket operated by one Sukesh Chandrashekar.
On the work front, Jacqueline will appear in a horror-comedy, with Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Yami Gautam. The film is helmed by Pavan Kirpalani and will have an OTT release.
