Rakesh Roshan had a different lead female actor on his mind for his film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. Although the actress that debuted in the film was Ameesha Patel, Rakesh’s first choice was our Bebo, Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Rakesh Roshan directed the blockbuster romantic thriller movie, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. It was among the most successful movies of the year and attracted many hearts across the country to the debut of Hrithik Roshan, the director’s son, and Ameesha Patel.

If the movie was a hit, how come Kareena dropped out of it?

Well, Babita, Kareena’s mother wasn’t satisfied with the directors’ working style. Rakesh suggested that the songs should be covered first and then gradually move towards the actual acting scene to which Babita wasn’t happy with. Other than this, both the individuals were always in disagreement with each other. The director tried to agree with the actress’ mother. Kareena was doing a great job. Babita went a little overboard after calling Rakesh unprofessional. After several disagreements and arguments later, the filmmakers decided to drop Kareena Kapoor from the film.

Rakesh Roshan said in an interview, “I said, ‘No Babita, I think a song is better because she’ll be very familiar to the whole unit. It’ll be much easier. To say mouth dialogue and to act is a little more difficult than to lip-sync to a song. Of course, we will train her.’ Babita was a little adamant about it. So I said, ‘This way I cannot work because tomorrow you might say, don’t do this, don’t do that. I think we should part ways because we are good friends.’ So, we parted ways.”

Later that very year, Kareena debuted in a movie along with Abhishek Bachan called Refugee. Kareena, when asked about her opinions about the issue, simply said that she believes in fate and that whatever is meant to happen will happen.
