RuPaul has become the most honoured back artist in Emmys History as his show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” prevails as the top competition program in the award show for the fourth year straight. His show won the prize for Outstanding Competition Program at the annual ceremony and as RuPaul bagged his 11th Emmy, he became the Black artist with the most wins in Emmys history.
He thanks the lovely cast and participants of the show for being courageous and sharing their stories on how to navigate this difficult life. He calls them gracious and dedicates his award to those “lovely children of the show”. While he did not acknowledge breaking the record, he surpassed his previous placeholder Donald A. Morgan, who had 10 Emmys.
This year marked the fourth straight win for RuPaul’s Drag Race in the category, as it stood above other nominees like The Amazing Race, Nailed It!, Top Chef and The voice.
