The 73rd Emmy awards was a blockbuster hit after the virtual event last year. This year the Emmy Awards was celebrated in an indoor- outdoor environment. This time the awards went back to it OG style with all precautions. The attendees had to show a proof of their vaccination before entering the premises. The Crown made a huge impact with 11 nominations and 7 awards in major categories.

The Crown had multiple nominations in all the major drama categories. The series won awards for best drama series, best actors(drama), best supporting roles, best writing and directing. Olivia Colman won the best actress awards followed by Josh O’ connor winning the best actor award. The outstanding supporting actor was won by Torbias Menzies and Gilliana Anderson. Peter Morgan won the best writing in drama for The Crown.

The Crown is a historical drama about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. With a production budget of $260 million, it is recorded as one of the most expensive television series in the history. It portrays the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding in 1947 to Phillip, Duke of Edinburg till the 21st century. The episodes follow the depiction for various life incidents of the Queen.

The Emmy Awards was a hit by performances from pop stars, rappers and actors. Taking in regards with the current situation, all the protocols were followed. The attendees were lighted up with amazing outfits. The night was a great hit!
