It was big night for The Crown team at the Emmy Awards 2021, a celebration of the best in TV, as the drama, which had multiple nominations, took away most awards, seven in total, in major Drama categories. The comedy-drama Ted Lasso was the top contenders with most number of nominations however, it was night for The Crown.

Olivia Colman won Outstanding Actress- Drama for The Crown. Kate Winslet won Outstanding Actress in a limited series or movie for her performance in Mare of Eastown. Here is the list of major winners.

History was also made Michaela Coel became the first Black woman to win at the Emmys for Limited series Writing for “I May Destroy You”.

Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, The show took place at the Event Deck at LA. The ceremony moved to an indoor-outdoor venue this year due to the pandemic. Other precautions include all attendees being required to show proof of vaccination.
